RCC ESAP: Workshop Tackling Informal Employment in Albania: Current Situation and the Way Forward

21 December 2018 Tirana, Albania

The Employment and Social Affairs Platform Project (ESAP) of the Regional Cooperation Council (RCC) organises a Workshop Tackling Informal Employment in Albania: Current Situation and the Way Forward, which will take place in Tirana on 21 December 2019.

The focus of this workshop will be the presentation of a diagnostic report prepared by the RCC on informal economy and informal employment in Albania, which evaluates the extent, nature and drivers of this phenomenon. It will also discuss key recommendations for collaboratively creating a holistic approach to tackling the informal economy and informal employment.

The workshop will bring together policy-makers, employer and employees’ organizations, economic experts, researchers and other actors relevant to this topic. Similar workshops will also be organized in other Western Balkan economies.

Inspired by the work of the European Platform Tackling Undeclared Work, this workshop is part of a broader regional initiative by the RCC to support Western Balkan economies to effectively tackle undeclared work through a holistic approach, while at the same time establishing a strong base for the exchange of good practices and mutual learning among peer institutions in the region.
