Meeting of the Ministry of Labour of Montenegro with the representatives of the EC on the new Labour Law, Brussels, December 2018

A visit of the representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Montenegro to the Directorate for Employment of the European Commission took place on 6 December 2018 in Brussels.

With the overall aim of advancing towards the finalization of the new labour law fully in line with the EU requirements, the representatives of the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare discussed with the representatives of the European Commission the implementation of the following directives:

• Council Directive 1999/70/EC of 28 June 1999 concerning the framework agreement on fixed-term work concluded by ETUC, UNICE and CEEP
• Directive 2008/94/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 22 October 2008 on the protection of employees in the event of the insolvency of their employer (Codified version)
• Directive 2003/88/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council of 4 November 2003 concerning certain aspects of the organisation of working time
• Council Directive 94/33/EC of 22 June 1994 on the protection of young people at work

At the end of the meeting, it was concluded that the European Commission will submit all comments made during the meeting to the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare, which will be then incorporated in the document.
